In the District of Columbia I would get a $100 ticket when driving and holding my cell phone up to my ear and talking. Note, one hand is still on the wheel and I’m facing forward looking at the road.
So imagine my reaction as I’m driving home yesterday and see a car with two deaf people having an obviously animated conversation in sign language. Driver is clearly looking away from the road and is using both hands in the conversation. No ticket?
Now, I’m not saying that they should be ticketed or signing while driving should be illegal. I’m just saying if it works for them, why not me?
Of course, I guess I could use sign language too. Howver I only know one phrase… but it takes one finger and isn’t very nice.
