Hats off to my friend George who went for a “run” last night with me.
For those of you that don't know, I got back into running last year and ran the Army 10 Miler. I looked great (dropped 15 pounds), felt great, and had a good time. Well being hurt and tired after the ATM, a busy winter coupled with my love of high caloric beer (imports and microbrews only in my house!), I've porked back up and am trying to get back on the Running-Wagon.
We started out with great intentions — I picked a route that goes a mile from my house to a local lake and figured we'd stretch and keep going. We get to the lake and my calves are yelling “what the f$%& are you doing!”. Needless to say, we walked a good bit from there interspersed with some light jogging.
I'll get back into it and will push myself. For those of you that see me on a daily basis, feel free to nag me and say how it's going.
For now, I'm fat and happy but that's about to change :-).
